Supported road and gravel cycling tour, 6 days along Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, including sections of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail. Meet in the Blue Mountains, then shuttle to Port Elgin to start the tour. The first two days focus on Lake Huron, with its spectacular beaches, historic lighthouses, and vibrant villages. Stops include MacGregor Point Provincial Park, Port Elgin, and Southampton. Then spend time exploring the Bruce Peninsula, where Georgian Bay awaits under the white cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment. The last couple of days you roll along Georgian Bay and up over the Niagara Escarpment through Owen Sound, Meaford, and Thornbury.

DAY 1

Port Elgin to MacGregor Point 

We meet mid-day in the Blue Mountains and transfer to Port Elgin. Ride the scenic Lake Huron shore to MacGregor Point Provincial Park and back. Accommodation is the delightful waterfront Paradise Inn.

DAY 2

Port Elgin to Bruce Peninsula

The first section today follows Lake Huron to lovely Southampton and then on to Sauble Beach and Pike Bay, before meandering across Bruce Peninsula to the Georgian Bay side. The final destination is Lion's Head, where you stay at the Lionheart Guest House for 2 nights.

DAY 3

Northern Bruce Peninsula

Today is an exploration of Northern Bruce Peninsula.  Ride your bikes alongside some spectacular rugged scenery, unique geological formations, and the turquoise waters of Georgian Bay. Tires that can handle some gravel are suggested today, to get to the most delightful places.

DAY 4

Lion's Head to Owen Sound

Say goodbye to Lion's Head and head towards Owen Sound, via Big Bay mostly along the water. There will be options for beach and ice cream breaks. Spend the night in the wonderful Best Western on the Bay in Owen Sound.

DAY 5

Owen Sound to Meaford

More exploration of the Niagara Escarpment as you head east towards Meaford. There is an option for more gravel today, as you pass by the Bayview Escarpment Provincial Nature Reserve. Today is a bit shorter with some hills. You will be staying at the trendy new Hills in Meaford. Be sure to book early so you get your first choice of their lovely suites!

DAY 6

The Blue Mountains

Today is up to you! Enjoy the town of Meaford or one of their fabulous beaches. Treat yourself to a gentle ride to Thornbury on the Georgian Trail, or cycle some hills and through the local orchards. We will provide GPX files for self navigation.
